Subjunctive Would Rather

DEFINITION
Subjunctive with would rather
As the subjunctive, this expression is used to express a preference, that is the subject prefers the second subject first to do / not do something, but the desire was not fulfilled.
Formulation For Past subjunctive

S1 + would rather + that* + S2 + past perfect tense

*that dapat dihilangkan

Fact : S1 + V2 + Obj + Adv

Example Of Past Subjunctive

She would rather my uncle had woren hat in the park yesterday
Fact : uncle doesn’t wear hat in the park yesterday
Yobi would rather his sister had cooked seafood
Fact : yobi’s sister doesn’t cook seafood
I would rather you had woren shoes in the school
Fact : you don’t wear shoes in the school
They would rather you had studied math
Fact : you don’t study math
You would rather Ani had drawn elephant
Fact : ani doesn’t draw elephant
